Terry Crew has put himself forward to take on the role of Ariel's father King Triton in The Little Mermaid's live-action remake.
The Brooklyn Nine-Nine star shared a photoshopped image of himself as a merman to Twitter, captioning it, "Ariel's Dad!!!! #ArielsGotTerry #AmericasGotTerry."

He added, "Good thing I skip leg day because mermen don't have legs!"
Crews' pitch for the role comes after Disney announced that Halle Bailey would be starring as Ariel in the film.

Melissa McCarthy is reportedly in talks to play Ursula, the movie's villain.
Production on the film will begin next year, with a release date yet to be announced.

With Mary Poppins Returns and Chicago director Marshall behind the lens, The Little Mermaid will feature much-loved songs from the 1989 animated film, as well as new numbers from original composer Alan Menken and Hamiltoncreator Lin-Manuel Miranda.
