Taylor Swift has released the gloriously camp video for her new single You Need to Calm Down and it features a host of her famous friends, including Katy Perry, who she recently made peace with following a long-running feud.

The second single from her forthcoming album Lover, You Need to Calm Down is a pro-LGBT anthem that takes aim at homophobia.

The accompanying video, which was co-directed by Swift with Drew Kirsch, features an impressive line-up of cameos including chatshow host Ellen DeGeneres, Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds, Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ciara, Laverne Cox, RuPaul,  Adam Lambert and, much to fans delight, Katy Perry.

On Monday after the video's release, Swift took to Instagram to praise her "amazing" co-stars and said she is "so grateful to everyone who lent their time to this video".

The video ends with a celebrity food fight breaking out as Perry, wearing a burger costume, and Swift, decked out in a french fries outfit, lock eyes with one another and warmly embrace.

Last week, the formerly feuding pair publicly declared their friendship on Instagram, prompting fervent speculation that they could be set to collaborate in the near future.
