Taylor Swift has announced that her new and seventh album Lover will be released this August and she will also be releasing a new single entitled You Need To Calm Down on Thursday evening.
The pop megastar announced the details of her new album on Instagram, with the new album out on August 23. A video for her new single will debut this Monday, June 17.
According to a pre-order listing on iTunes, Lover features 18 as yet untitled tracks.
Swift has been teasing details of the release over the past few months and in her announcement on Thursday she thanked fans for their dedication and patience.

"I’ve been so, so, so honored," she said, adding, "This album, in tone, it’s very romantic. Not just simply thematically, like it’s all love songs or something.
"The idea of something being romantic, it doesn’t have to be a happy song. You can find romance in loneliness or sadness or going through things in your life… it just looks at those things through a romantic gaze."
Swift’s last single ME! featured Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie and she said that the video for that song gave clues to where she was heading after her last album, 2017's Reputation.
"In the ME! music video there were a lot of foreshadowing clues," Swift said in her livestream.
