Avengers: Endgame has broken the global box office record, having already earned over $644million in its opening weekend.
The film is breaking all sorts of domestic box office records in the US, as well as besting global figures, and the weekend isn't even over yet.
Globally, the film has surpassed Avengers: Infinity War ($641million) to earn the highest opening weekend globally of all time.
In the US, the film film broke a record previously held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens for earning the most box office receipts in its opening day, according to Time magazine.
The directors of Avengers: Endgame, Joe and Anthony Russo, have said they celebrated with cupcakes representing the film's infinity stones.
"We had a cupcake in celebration, that was it," Joe Russo told the Press Association:
"One of our PAs (production assistants) made these amazing Infinity Stone-themed cupcakes and I think I ate the Soul Stone cupcake."
He added, "You have got to keep the celebrations modest, it's how you focus on the work."
