Four Tet, The Streets and Jarvis Cocker will also be performing, with many more acts yet to be announced.

At the launch of this year's line-up in Dublin on Wednesday morning, Electric Picnic organisers also announced details of Freetown, described as "a whole new town within the festival's mind-blowing creative acreage" which will feature an "8,000 capacity mega-stage for electronica and dance".

Speaking to RTÉ Entertainment at the launch, Festival Republic CEO Melvin Benn said, "I think it's the most extraordinary line-up we've ever put together. I think it's way, way beyond anything we've ever done.

"Hozier is going to be really, really special doing a headline show. I adore The Strokes obviously, Florence coming back . . . there's a huge amount there. Billy Eilish, really, really important, and it will be a mega, mega show from Christina and The Queens."
