Lady Gaga has dismissed rumours she is pregnant and confirmed she was working on a new studio album.

The 32-year-old singer and actress is fresh from her success from A Star Is Born, for which she won an Oscar for best original song.

Gaga has now told fans they can expect new music from her and has said an album is on the way.

Addressing reports in the US that she was expecting, Gaga tweeted: "Rumors I'm pregnant? Yeah, I'm pregnant with #LG6."

It will be her sixth studio album and her first since 2016's Joanne. Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, rose to international prominence following the release of her debut album The Fame in 2008.

Earlier this month, Gaga said that she had her Oscar speech prepared since she was 14.

Speaking on US talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she said that she began her rehearsals while working as a hostess to supplement her pocket money as a teenager.

"Sometimes no one would be coming in the restaurant, and I'd be standing there with nothing to do," she recounted.

''And I would just go, 'I'd like to thank the Academy for this tremendous honour. I've wanted to be an actress my whole life'. I would practise my acceptance speech and everyone at the bar would shout, 'That's never gonna happen'.''
