2FM's Nicky Byrne surprised co-host Jenny Greene with a chat with Joanna Lumley to celebrate their fifth anniversary on air together on Friday.

Before bringing Joanna Lumley on air, Nicky said he had been a terrible gift giver over the years and wanted to try and make it up to Jenny with one person that he knew she would really like to talk to.

When the Absolutely Fabulous star said hello to the bubbly DJ, Greene started to cry, saying: "I actually am crying!"

The New Avengers star said she was delighted to be part of the celebrations but was not impressed with the Westlife singer's present-giving skills to his co-host.

2FM's Jenny said that she had missed an opportunity to interview Joanna Lumley a few years ago as she was in Portugal and was very disappointed. Luckily she had managed to get tickets to her live event It's All About Me in Dublin last October.

Jenny, who was starstruck, left most of the questioning to Nicky, who asked Lumley if she had cats.

"My husband and I have two cats that rule our life," she said.

The Westlife star asked her about her favourite drink and she responded that when in Ireland, it is a half pint of Guinness, but generally it is gin and tonic.

The Wolf of Wall Street actress also shared that the made-up drink on Absolutely Fabulous called Stoli-Boli was surprisingly something that people drink even though it was just made up for the TV programme because it rhymes.

Nicky asked another probing question: whether she ordered peanuts or crisps with her drink. Lumley replied: "Salted peanuts."

After the call Jenny said that the guest had "not only made my day but has made my whole year".
