Songwriter and singer Julia Michaels has included a song with Niall Horan in her new album Inner Monologue Part 1 which comes out next Friday. He is featured in a song called What a time.

Singers everywhere must be shaking in their shoes that the 26-year-old may not be available to write for them in the future if this album is as successful as her last.

The Issues singer is famous for songs that she has written for other artists, including Justin Bieber's Sorry, Ed Sheeran's Dive and Selena Gomez's Hands To Myself, have clocked up billions of streams worldwide.

For years, she was content working behind the scenes, until she wrote a song she just couldn't give away.

The former One Direction singer Horan said: "Julia is one of my very very good friends and ‘what a time’ is absolutely stunning . I’m very proud to be part of this and can’t wait for you guys to hear it."

He said: "So excited about this ! I’m singing on @juliamichaels album and I’m over the moon"

.

Clearly the Slow Hands singer who had planned to pull himself out of the limelight after his Flicker tour ends is back.

Last June he had said ''I'm going to take a couple of months off after the tour, which finishes in September. Then I'll just write until I've got good tunes. I'm not coming back until I do."

He added: ''I find the slower songs come more naturally for me. I would like to create a bit more of the up-tempo stuff and try to cement my sound. That's something to work on.''

Selena Gomez is also featured on the album singing Anxiety.

Selena Gomez released a video on social media of the pair singing in a recording studio this month where Selena and Julia are singing Issues

Inner Monologue Part 1 drops on January 25.
