Lily Allen has admitted that she was winging it on her recent American tour - but she was only joking about over-indulging in chicken wings while on the other side of the Atlantic.
The 33-year-old singer, who released her latest album No Shame earlier this year, said she thought she had put on two stone while touring in America, joking that her weight gain had been due to a fondness for the country's chicken wings.
Appearing on ITV's This Morning, the singer was asked whether her grueling tour schedule was an escape.
She replied: "No, that's the best bit. It's the other 22 hours a day when you are sort of waiting around. That's the chore of the tour.
"I just got back from America. I just eat. I get on my phone and I look for the best places. I think I put on about two stone in America, and I've grown a beard because of all of the hormones from all the chicken wings I was eating.
"No, I actually got ill and I had to take steroids. It was either chicken related or steroid related. I haven't figured it out yet."
