Chris Evans has appeared to hang up his Captain America boots having played the iconic character in ten Marvel movies.
The actor took to Twitter on Thursday (October 4) where he announced he had officially wrapped filming on Avengers 4.
He said it was "an emotional day to say the least."
"Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor", Evans wrote.
"To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful."

Evans first put on the Captain America suit for 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger.
The Hollywood star reprised the role numerous times over the years for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War, as well as the upcoming untitled Avengers film, due to be released next year.
Evans is one of the original Avengers alongside Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, Chris Hemsworth's Thor and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow.
