Ed Sheeran has appeared to hint that he has married his fiancée Cherry Seaborn.

The singer-songwriter announced his engagement to the hockey player in January, saying they are "very happy and in love".

Now, the 27-year-old hitmaker has further fuelled speculation that he and Seaborn have already tied the knot.

During an interview with Access Online in the US, the reporter asked Sheeran if the couple had picked a date for their wedding ceremony.

Sheeran shrugged his shoulders and pointed at the silver ring on his left hand while smiling widely.

When the reporter said: "That's exciting" and congratulated him, Sheeran giggled and replied: "Yeah."

When asked how he managed to "sneak that one", Sheeran responded: "I never really do anything too public anyway."

In February, the Shape of You star prompted rumours that he had already walked down the aisle when he was spotted wearing a silver band on his ring finger.

However, he denied that he and Seaborn had wed, saying on Good Morning Britain that he was just wearing an engagement ring "because I feel like you both should".

Sheeran announced his engagement earlier this year, writing on Instagram:

"We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx."

Sheeran and accomplished British hockey player Seaborn have been together since 2015, but they met when they were in secondary school in Suffolk.

Sheeran's song Perfect appears to be about Seaborn and follows the narrative of him falling in love with a girl he grew up with.
