YouTube star Joe Sugg is the latest celebrity to be announced for this year's Strictly Come Dancing line-up.

The 26-year-old social media star is known for his ThatcherJoe YouTube channel, which has 8.2 million subscribers. 5.5m people follow him on Twitter.

Sugg, who is the younger brother of fellow YouTuber Zoe Sugg aka Zoella, joins Steps star Faye Tozer, presenter and campaigner Katie Piper and Red Dwarf actor Danny John-Jules for this year's competition.

Speaking about his decision to sign up to the dancing contest, Sugg said: "I'm honestly so chuffed to be involved in the show this year!

"Not going to lie, I'm very nervous about it, it's totally out of my comfort zone and I know it will be a huge challenge, but that's what life is all about I guess.

"Funnily enough, I'm writing this statement whilst on the way to surprise my grandparents with the news. They are going to be so happy, which will definitely make up for any embarrassment or cringe caused by my questionable rhythm."

Further announcements are expected to follow regarding the celebrity dancing line-up, with many famous faces hotly tipped to take to the ballroom.

Former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, radio presenter Vick Hope and BBC News presenter Kate Silverton are all rumoured to be taking part this year, though no official announcement has been made yet.
