Incredibles 2, the follow-up to Pixar’s first smash hit superhero family movie from 2004, has now grossed a billion dollars globally, putting it in the select club of animated movies to pass that box office milestone.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the Pixar sequel is the seventh animated film to join the billion-dollar club.

Disney, which owns Pixar has a total of five animated titles in the top seven.

Incredibles 2 also becomes the fourth title of 2018 to hit the billion dollar mark following the massive success of Avengers: Infinity War ($2.044 billion) and Black Panther ($1.346 billion) and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ($1.237 billion).

Incredibles 2 follows the superhero adventures of the Parr family and sees Brad Bird returning to direct.

The six animated movies which have taken over a billion dollars globally are: Frozen ($1.276 billion), Minions ($1.159 billion), Toy Story 3 ($1.067 billion), Despicable Me 3 ($1.034 billion), Finding Dory ($1.028 billion), and Zootopia ($1.023 billion).
