Taylor Swift plays a red-haired femme fatale in a new music video for Babe, her collaboration with country music duo Sugarland.
The lush, 1960s-set video details a Mad-Men inspired extramarital drama where Swift is the other woman, Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles is the dutiful, unsuspecting wife and actor Brandon Routh is the philandering husband having an affair in the office.
The video was shot on the set of the hit series Mad Men in Los Angeles, giving it a sumptuous feel with spot-on period details.
The short film sees Swift play a vampy, Joan Holloway-alike character who works in an office and catches the eye of one of her male colleagues.
They embark upon an extramarital affair which seems to be obvious to everyone, apart from his poor unsuspecting wife.
However, when she arrives in to the office one day to deliver his packed lunch, she catches Swift with her husband sharing an intimate moment in his office.
The video details the fallout of the affair being exposed, from the wife's emotional distress to Swift's own turmoil.
Sugarland singer Nettles revealed that Swift herself came up with the concept for the video.
Speaking to People, the 43-year-old country star said: "She actually reached out to us and said, ‘I’ve got a great idea for the video. Kristian Bush, the other half of Sugarland, added: "And we looked at it and said, ‘Oh my gosh, this is awesome.’"
