Boom! EastEnders drops Max marriage bombshell

He's back - and married again!
He's back - and married again!

EastEnders dropped another bombshell on fans on Tuesday night with the revelation that lairy Lothario Max Branning (Jake Wood) is, once again, a married man.

Warning: spoiler alert!

As viewers wondered just how the writers planned to further complicate Max's personal life, the answer came when Rainie Cross (Tanya Franks) - the sister of Max's ex Tanya - revealed that they are now husband and wife.

With Kat (Jessie Wallace) about to hit Max, Rainie stepped in, saying: "Please don't! I don't want my wedding night spent in A&E, do I?"

Speaking to Metro about what lies ahead for the newlyweds, Tanya Franks said: "I would say nobody would imagine what it's like for Rainie and Max to be together so the only way to discover how potentially successful or disastrous this could be is just to view it and find out."

When asked how much recovering drug addict Rainie had changed, Franks replied: "We're now going to find out what Rainie is like without having to rely on substances.

That's the summer fireworks ordered then...

"It's good for me because even I'm learning and finding out what she's like, because what I know of Rainie is when she is always grasping for the next new hit, and so now she's not going through that she's finding other ways and new obsessions, which is fun to play."
