Speaking to RTÉ Entertainment in Tel Aviv at Israel Calling, the biggest preview event for this year's Eurovision Song Contest, SuRie revealed that the competition is "starting to feel very real" and that she is "ready for it".
And it's no wonder that SuRie, who has performed backing vocals for artists like Chris Martin and Will Young, is feeling confident, as she is no stranger to the Eurovision stage, having appeared on it twice before.
She was as a backing singer for Belgium’s Loic Nottet during the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015. And she was the musical director for Blanche’s City Lights, the Belgian entry at Eurovision 2017.
SuRie added: "It’s unique – it's indescribable, there is nothing like it in the world. It is the most joyous, colourful, vibrant, positive experience. It’s really is an honour."
Fresh from his appearance on The Late Late Show last Friday Ireland's Ryan O'Shaugnessy also made the trip to Israel and will be performing alongside 25 other Eurovision contestants at a free concert in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square in front of thousands of Eurovision fans on Tuesday.
O’Shaughnessy will perform Together in the first Eurovision Semi Final in Lisbon on Tuesday, May 8. The second Semi Final is on Thursday, May 10, with the Grand Final taking place on Saturday, May 12.
