Chatty Man Alan Carr has revealed that his "good friend" Adele got ordained so that she could preside over his wedding ceremony - she also planned the flowers, the food, and sang for his first dance with his partner!

Carr became engaged to his boyfriend of ten years in 2016 while the couple where on holiday in Indonesia. The much-loved comedian actually thought he had broken a tooth while enjoying his dessert only to discover that it was in fact an engagement ring from Paul Drayton.

Speaking on This Morning, Carr revealed that Adele asked if she could plan the wedding, and by all accounts, the superstar singer, went above and beyond for her friend.

Carr revealed: "We got married in Adele’s back garden in LA. She’s known me and Paul for ages, and she said ‘I want to do your special day, let me do everything.’

"She even got ordained and she married us.

Carr said that he was only speaking out about his wedding so that everyone would know how "kind and generous" Adele is.

"She is the kindest, most sweetest, loveliest person ever. She did the whole day. It was the best day of my life.

"She is so generous and her lovely partner Simon he helped her organise everything.

"I want to tell everyone because she won’t say because she is so private – she just planned it all and it couldn’t have been more perfect."

Following their nuptials, the newlyweds honeymooned in Los Cabos in Mexico.

Carr also teased his appearance on Celebrity Bake Off (Channel 4, 8.00pm) this evening, telling Emma Willis and Rylan Clark-Neal (who are standing in for Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield on This Morning for the week) that his baking is so bad that when he "put something in the bin, the bin nearly spat it out."

Carr is competing against fellow comedian Aisling Bea, Paralympian Kadeena Cox, and - all the way from the US - award-winning actor, author, and all-round good egg Teri Hatcher.

Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith set the celebrities some tough challenges: it's all or muffin with the signature; definitely not as easy as pie for the technical; and dreams may turn to nightmares during the showstopper cake challenge.
