After laying low and staying out of the media spotlight for the past while, Taylor Swift has dropped her latest music video and the response has been overwhelmingly positive from her legion of fans.
Longtime collaborator Joseph Kahn, who directed the futuristic videos for her previous hit singles Bad Blood, Look What You Made Me Do and ...Ready for It? promised that the video for Delicate would be "unexpected" and he wasn't exaggerating.
The joyous and very personal-feeling video seems to to be inspired by Swift's recent decision to withdraw from the media, after allegedly finding love with actor Joe Alwyn, and showing fans the happiness it has brought her.
I apologize for the lack of robots. I hope you liked it anyway. #DelicateMusicVideo

The beginning of the short film depicts a vacant looking Swift on a red carpet surrounded by press, fans and her burly security guards. She walks through a fancy hotel while everyone openly stares at her. When fans stop her for a selfie, she is accosted by a bellboy, who is dragged away unceremoniously.
When she goes to the bathroom, she discovers a magical note that suddenly makes her invisible. She is initially perturbed, but soon begins to explore the newfound freedom her invisibility grants her and goes on a joyful journey throughout the hotel, subway station and rain-drenched streets.
All the while dancing her socks off with goofy abandon.
The joy of Taylor dancing in the rain is real. In the freezing cold, she loved doing that. #DelicateMusicVideo
