Daniel O'Donnell has told RTÉ Entertainment he was "a bit irate" when he and wife Majella first started working with Room to Improve's Dermot Bannon to transform their house in Kincasslagh, Co Donegal.
The long-awaited episode opens the new series of Room to Improve on RTÉ One on Sunday, with the couple billed as Dermot's "feistiest and most single-minded clients yet".

Now that the dust has settled, the O'Donnells have the place back to themselves, with Majella upbeat about the whole experience, and Daniel ruefully reflecting on his crankiness as Dermot "tore the house apart".
"It's been actually quite painless, really," Majella told RTÉ Entertainment. "It was great because you had Dermot and you had Lisa O'Brien, the surveyor. And then the builder and everything - they were working together very well. So it took an awful lot of pressure off us."

"They were great and the builder was fantastic," Daniel continued. "And Dermot and Lisa, of course, have their expertise off to a tee.
"I suppose it started off [that] I was a bit irate in the beginning; then I calmed down!"
"As usual the budget's blown!" Majella smiled. "But anyway!"
When asked if they thought the episode would set a new audience record as viewers have a nosy around their home, Daniel replied laughing: "I think the Toy Show is safe enough!"
