Nick Cave, Imelda May and Glen Hansard were also among the performers on the night, with actor Depp joining Bono on guitar for a cover of A Rainy Night in Soho. Hansard and Lisa O'Neill duetted on Fairytale of New York.
MacGowan and Cave also teamed up for another Pogues cover, Summer in Siam, with MacGowan then singing a solo version of Will You Go Lassie Go.
The concert also remembered Dolores O'Riordan whose death was announced on Monday. Cerys Matthews performed The Broad Majestic Shannon, which was dedicated to the late Cranberries singer, while Bono sang the lyrics to The Cranberries' hit Linger during Down All the Days.
