Rita Ora has ruffled a few feathers with a tweet she posted from the British Fashion Awards which included a picture of her cosying up to Conor McGregor and was captioned "date night".
We're sure it was all innocent fun but pop star Rita Ora and MMA champion Conor McGregor have hit the headlines for their appearance at the British Fashion Awards and it wasn't their clothes everyone was talking about.
Taking to social media to share pictures of them together Ora quipped that it was "date night".
However the joke did not go down well, with many accusing her of "disrespecting" McGregor's partner of nine years and the mother of his son, Dee Devlin.
A spokesperson for Ora insisted that the singer meant no offence.
"Date night is a figure of speech, Rita also posted selfies with Donatella Versace as her real date and one with Jourdan Dunn as her date," they said.
Donatella Versace, who is the artistic director of Versace, was honoured with the prestigious Fashion Icon Award, which celebrates the star's work with the fashion house set up by her late brother Gianni Versace in 1978.
Speaking at the star-studded event she said: "I am truly honoured to be collecting the Fashion Icon Award at The Fashion Awards 2017. For 40 years my brother and I have done what we love and that is a legacy I am honoured to continue and uphold.
"We have celebrated empowerment, joy and of course glamour. We have championed a community of people who share our values and together with them have created truly iconic images in the world of fashion.
"I am truly humbled by how Versace has been embraced across the decades, across the world and across the generations.
"Thank you to the industry for your support of us, thank you to my team for their loyalty and incredibly hard work, thank you to my family and friends who have supported me more than they can know and thank you to the genius that was my brother Gianni. His incredible spirit is in everything we do and everything we stand for.'
