Selena Gomez and her boyfriend The Weeknd have reportedly parted ways after an almost year-long romance.
Multiple sources told US showbiz publication People that the Bad Liar star and Canadian singer-songwriter, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, have broken up after 10 months together due to the strain of a long-distance relationship.
One source said: "She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship.
"It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them."
The source added that the break-up has been difficult for both parties, saying: "It’s been hard for them to come to the realization that this is the direction things were heading, but it’s been hard for months."
25-year-old Gomez and the 27-year-old Can't Feel My Face singer began dating in January and made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Met Gala in New York in May.
Gomez was photographed with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber this past weekend, however the source said that she is not back together with the popstar.
The Weeknd was previously in a relationship with model Bella Hadid while Gomez dated Bieber on and off from 2011 to 2015.
Singer and actress Gomez revealed in September that she had undergone a kidney transplant. She told her fans that she has been "laying low" throughout the summer because she underwent the major operation due to suffering from the autoimmune disease lupus.
