Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders are reuniting for a Christmas special to mark thirty years since their first sketch show.

Their shows ran on and off for 20 years, with the last series in 2007 entitled A Bucket O’French and Saunders.

Now the comic duo is back working together. They have already begun  writing the festive special which will feature parodies of some of this year's most popular TV shows - including some racy reality shows.

Speaking to The Mirror, French said: "There's some Handmaid's Tale in there. We had fun with some of the costumes."

Earlier this year the pair made a brief appearance together when they spoofed Carpool Karaoke for Comic Relief.

Over the years they have parodied many movies including Misery, Thelma & Louise, Harry Potter, Titanic and Silence of the Lambs, as well as sending up pop stars including Madonna and Britney Spears.
