American comedian and television host Kathy Griffin has said the police investigation that was launched against her after she was photographed holding a decapitated model head that resembled US President Donald Trump, has been closed.
Griffin came under fire after posting the image in May; a move that cost her a contract with CNN and saw a number of programmes cancelled.
The 56-year-old star has now revealed that the case against her has been closed.
"I am no longer under federal investigation. The case is closed, I have been completely exonerated. Finally," she tweeted.

Griffin made a public video apology for the stunt and asked photographer Tyler Shields to remove the pictures,
"I sincerely apologise," she said in the video. "I am just now seeing the reaction of [sic] these images."
"The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people… I get it," the Emmy and Grammy winner continued. "I beg for your forgiveness. I went too far. I made a mistake, and I was wrong."
