Ed Sheeran and friend and collaborator Stormzy are among the 12 nominees in the UK for the Mercury Prize for album of the year.
Sheeran is nominated for his chart-dominating third album ÷ (Divide), with Stormzy shortlisted for his debut, Gang Signs & Prayer. Seven of this year's nominees are nominated for their debut albums.

Previous winners The xx and Alt-J are also among the nominees with Kate Tempest receiving her second nomination.
The winner will be announced on September 14 in London.
