Edgar Wright has said he is considering writing a sequel to Baby Driver after being nudged to do so by the film's studio.
The British director, who is yet to make a sequel to any of his movies, said he would consider a follow-up to Baby Driver because he feels there is more to explore with the characters.
"The studio have asked me to think about writing a sequel," he told the Empire Film Podcast.
"It's one of the ones that I might do a sequel to because I think there's somewhere more to go with it in terms of the characters."
Wright said he already has ideas for a sequel, which saw Ansel Elgort play a fledgling getaway driver who listens to music to battle his tinnitus.
"I sort of had an idea that if I do another one you would subvert his involvement in the crime in a different way so he is not kind of like the apprentice anymore," Wright said.
Baby Driver, which also stars Jamie Foxx, Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm and Lily James, has received widespread acclaim since being released on June 21, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 97% and an 8.4/10 rating on IMDb.

Elgort, who became a teen heartthrob with his starring role in the adaptation of bestseller The Fault in Our Stars, told RTÉ Entertainment that despite all the high-octane hijinks in Baby Driver, it was the heartstring-pulling that sold him on the movie.
"It's such an action-packed movie with such high stakes and the car-chases and the characters like Jamie's [Foxx] character and Kevin's [Spacey] character who play these hardened criminals," he said.
"And then you have this soulful, grounded love story in the middle of it that really gives the movie heart. That if it didn't have, I think it'd be a good movie and a very fun movie, but their relationship gives the movie a heart and soul and turns it into an excellent movie."
