There will be some red faces at an LA based radio station today as Annie Lennox, who has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide, has revealed they got in touch to tell her she has "potential"!

The former Eurythmics lead singer, who has won eight Brit Awards and four Grammys, shared a picture of the correspondence on Facebook, writing alongside it: "I think I'm in with a chance ??!!!"

The name of the Los Angeles-based radio station is blacked out but the message starts by saying that Kylie, who describes herself as the new music coordinator, came across Lennox’s music online.

Kylie, who "really liked" what she heard also told Lennox that they could play the Why hitmaker's music on air to their 100,000 listeners and even offered to help take care of Lennox's PR campaign.

In the message to Lennox Kylie wrote:

"I came across your music online and I really like what I heard!

"I'm the New Music Coordinator for a station that has over 100,000 unique listeners each month.

"I find artists who I think have potential and get them on rotation in our station. If you'd like, please send over the MP3 for your latest single. I'll forward it to Glenn our program director here at xxxx to see if he's interested in putting it on rotation.

"Also what sort of support campaign do you have going on for your single (press, video, licensing etc?)

"I only ask because we are connected to an artist development firm that can also get you onto 150 radio stations worldwide and provide support for press, retail, video and licensing.

"The best part is, if they really like your music, they'll cover all of the marketing expenses. Please let them know Kylie referred you and you should be in.

"Let me know your thoughts and be sure to send me that MP3!"

Fans of Lennox have been quick with quips on Twitter following Kylie's blunder.
