Coronation Street fans have been left bemused after watching Nick Tilsley narrowly escape death after the soap stalwart became trapped in quicksand.
The character was rescued from drowning at the last minute in Wednesday night's episode. However, it had been widely expected that these would be actor Ben Price's last scenes as Nick, as he revealed he would be leaving the soap this year.
The actor also previously said he was "surprised" at his exit storyline, leading viewers to conclude that the unorthodox quicksand plot would be his last one after seven years on the show.

So... after all the "Is Nick going to die?" (In Corrie), the answer would appear to be "No".

However, some viewers were glad that Nick was saved.
So glad Nick didn't die via watery grave with Peter looking on! I'm still not over Kylie's death. That would have been too much! #Corrie
