Niall Horan has released the video for his second solo single, Slow Hands, which features lots of candid, behind-the-scenes footage of the singer recording the track.

The video for the uptempo single, which the 23-year-old Mullingar singer said was inspired by the "heavy bass" and "funky guitar" of 80s tunes, shows him in the recording studio singing, jamming on the guitar, and hanging out with friends.

Horan gives fans a peek into backstage life, with clips of him doing a soundcheck in front of an empty auditorium, chilling in the recording console and messing around on a drum kit.

The One Direction star unveiled a teaser for the video on his Twitter page by putting up a 15-second clip along with the message: "Here's the lyric video for 'Slow Hands' . got some behind the scenes footage for ya! (sic)"

Slow Hands was released on May 4 and followed last year's solo debut, the laid back, folky love song This Town, which have both been lifted from his upcoming debut solo album.

Meanwhile, Horan's fellow One Direction bandmate Harry Styles recently released the gravity-defying video for his debut single Sign of the Times, the first from his highly-rated self-titled solo album.
