The UK's Eurovision contestant Lucie Jones has said she is relieved that she did not become "Brexit Girl" at the song contest.
While Jones received no jury points from Ireland for her performance of Never Give Up on You, the 26-year-old scored 111 points in the final in Kyiv on Saturday night - the UK's best result at the contest in eight years.
What an incredible experience. Thank you to every person who's supported, voted, watched, tweeted... I can never tell you what it means. ♥️ https://t.co/5ZcV2AUAse

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine on Monday, the former X Factor star said Britain's departure from the EU was not an issue at the Eurovision.
"It was just the best experience. I had such a wonderful time," said the West End performer.
"Nobody actually talked about Brexit there. It wasn't a thing. I wasn't 'Brexit Girl', which was really nice."
On the issue of some contestants sounding out of tune on the night, Jones cited nerves and a lack of sleep.
"We were exhausted. It's so relentless," she said. "Some people didn't quite hit the notes they were hitting in rehearsals, which I thought was a real shame."

The Eurovision winner, Portugal's Salvador Sobral, arrived home to Lisbon on Sunday to a hero's welcome as the country celebrated winning the competition for the first time.
