Xposé presenter Ruth O'Neill has revealed that she's quitting the TV3 showbiz show to pursue new opportunities further afield.

The TV star, who recently was named Most Stylish Newcomer at the VIP Style Awards, announced the news in a statement.

"It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to leave Xposé. It was a very difficult decision for me," she said.

"The last year has been a whirlwind - from covering New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Paris and the BBC Music Awards.

"But I feel it's time to move on to new pastures and will be pursuing opportunities abroad in the coming months."

The Castleknock-born presenter joined the show in May 2016, replacing long-time Xposé presenter Aisling O'Loughlin while she was on maternity leave.

It was subsequently revealed that O'Loughlin, Peter O'Riordan and Lisa Cannon had all been let go from their presenting positions on the show, with newcomers O'Neill and Cassie Stokes given full-time slots.

O'Neill, who previously worked for MTV, VH1 and ABC News, was living in Los Angeles when she landed the Xposé role. She is looking to make a move back to LA and is also scoping out opportunities in London.

Xposé's series Producer Debbie O’Donnell said: "We wish Ruth all the best on her future adventures. She has been an asset to the team and she will be missed."
