Zayn Malik has gone straight to the top of the Irish charts with his debut solo single Pillowtalk.

The former One Direction star, who now prefers to be known as simply Zayn, has bumped Justin Bieber's Love Yourself from the coveted top spot. 

However, Bieber himself can boast the impressive feat of no less than three singles in the top 10, with Love Yourself at number two, Sorry at four and What Do You Mean? at eight.

Fast Car by Jonas Blue feat. Dakota takes the number three spot, while Stitches by Shawn Mendes rounds out the top five.

Meanwhile, Dingle band Walking on Cars have shot straight to the top of the album chart with their debut, Everything This Way, outselling its nearest rival, Justin Bieber's Purpose, by five to one.

Adele is at number three with 25, while Blackstar by David Bowie and This Is Acting by Sia are at four and five respectively.
