One Direction has released a music video for their latest single History – their final one before they (hopefully) reunite following their hiatus – and it's an emotional rollercoaster.
The single was released just before they went on their break, with fans seeing it as a fitting au revoir.
The video sees the now four-piece band singing in front of a bare brick wall, but Zayn Malik does feature heavily throughout as clips of their history together flash on screen.
The way they were: One Direction came third on The X Factor in 2010
Beginning with their very first moments together on The X Factor, right up to their final live performance at the 2014 X Factor finale, the video is a snapshot of all they achieved as a band, a fitting thank you and farewell to their fans and a reminder of why, even if we didn't always love their music, they were a great bunch of lads who were really just having the time of their lives.
Of course, following the video's release, Twitter erupted with fans sharing their emotional reactions.
Just when I thought I was doing fine, then they drop the video Now I'm like: #HistoryMusicVideo #Historyto28M pic.twitter.com/pJE2BFiLrx
