A new full length trailer for the upcoming DC Comics film Suicide Squad has been released and as well as a star-studded cast, the film looks to boast large helpings of mayhem, madness and menace.
The first promo for the highly anticipated film was released last year, with fans getting a first look at the band of comic book villains. Now, in the newly released trailer, we get a much better insight into what we can expect.
Suicide Squad features a plethora of Hollywood names like Jared Leto, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne... the list goes on, and it's looking like it's going to be an action-packed rollercoaster ride of every DC Comics fan's dreams.
Jared Leto as the Joker
Leto stands out as the maniacal Joker, appearing to bring his own take on the character that was last played by the late Heath Ledger in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. Robbie, too, as the Joker's partner-in-crime Harley Quinn, is transformed and features heavily in this new promo.
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn
The film follows a group of imprisoned supervillains who are recruited by a secret government agency to execute dangerous missions in exchange for shorter prison terms.
The team is lead by Rick Flagg, who was originally to be played by Tom Hardy but scheduling conflicts with The Revenant caused him to drop out, and with an Oscar nomination for his performance under his belt we're sure he's happy in his decision. Hardy was later replaced by The Killing and Run All Night star Joel Kinnaman.
Suicide Squad is both written and directed by End of Watch and Fury helmer David Ayer and finished filming in August 2015.
Since the shoot wrapped, we have been treated to many behind-the-scenes snaps from the film's stars on Instagram, with some of them even choosing to get Suicide Squad tattoos.
Suicide Squad hits cinemas on August 5.
