It seems that Keywest's brush with the law and the ensuing publicity has done them no harm - they've leaped to the top of the Irish charts their new album Joyland.
Earlier this week the Dublin five-piece were fined €75 each for exceeding Dublin City Council's noise limit while busking on Grafton Street and for not having their permits visible.
Lead singer Andy Kavanagh said that they did have a permit with them but it was tucked away in a guitar case and stated that the new rules are "unachievable."

“The city doesn’t want busking removed,” he said. “I am fine with rules that work and we are happy to talk to them about rules that work.”
“The decibel level is unachievable. If I am singing without a microphone, without an amp, just acoustically on the street, I would be hitting 90 to 95 decibels from 15 feet away,” he told The Herald.
Joyland debuted at No.2 on the Irish chart last Friday.
