Scenes featuring Jamie Dornan have been edited out of Bradley Cooper's upcoming film Burnt.

The Fifty Shades of Grey star is said to have undergone specific training for the film, which sees Cooper play a has-been chef hoping to redeem himself by opening a Michelin star restaurant. However, Dornan's scenes have now been cut.

A spokesperson for the film confirmed that his scenes would not be used, but did not elaborate on the reason why, "Jamie's role was a small cameo that was part of a back story and following the editing process is no longer part of the film."

UK tabloid The Sun quotes a source as saying Dornan's involvement in the Fifty Shades franchise is behind the decision. "It's embarrassing. Being in Fifty Shades of Grey seems to be getting Jamie dropped from movies which he had already been cast in rather than landing him big new roles," they said.

"But some people thought having him pop up on screen would be distracting. They're hoping to generate Oscar buzz with Burnt, and featuring the star of the most widely panned film of 2015 wasn't going to do the project any favours really."

Burnt hits cinemas on November 6 and also stars Sienna Miller, Emma Thompson, Daniel Bruhl, Alicia Vikander, Uma Thurman and Lily James.
