Pierce Brosnan was stopped by airport security in Vermont for carrying a knife in his luggage, according to US police.
The former Bond star tried to board a plane on Sunday afternoon but was held up at Burlington International Airport when security spotted a knife in his carry-on bag.
According to the Associated Press, a Burlington police officer commented on Brosnan's encounter with Transportation Security Administration, saying that the Irish actor "was encountered by TSA [Transportation Security Administration] at one of their checkpoints" but was allowed to proceed once the issue had been resolved.
The 62-year-old actor was travelling with his 14-year-old son Paris at the time of the incident.
Last month the Navan man wrapped filming for his new revenge thriller I.T. in Dublin and expressed his love for Ireland in a series of tweets and Instagram posts.
