Dublin actor Aidan Turner is among the nominees for this year's TV Choice Awards in the UK.

Turner is nominated in the Best Actor category for his performance in BBC One's Poldark.

Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who), David Tennant (Broadchurch) and Turner's Hobbit co-star James Nesbitt (The Missing) complete the Best Actor shortlist.

Turner's Poldark co-star Eleanor Tomlinson is nominated for Best Actress alongside Sheridan Smith (Cilla), Olivia Colman (Broadchurch) and Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who).

The Graham Norton Show is nominated for Best Entertainment Show and will compete against Top Gear, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and Celebrity Juice.

Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks are nominated for Best Soap.

Danny Dyer (Mick Carter, EastEnders), Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald, Coronation Street), Danny Miller (Aaron Livesy, Emmerdale) and Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale, EastEnders) are nominated for Best Soap Actor.

Natalie Anderson (Alicia Metcalfe, Emmerdale), Kellie Bright (Linda Carter, EastEnders), Alison King (Carla Connor, Coronation Street) and Nikki Sanderson (Maxine Minniver, Hollyoaks) are the nominees for Best Soap Actress.

The Big Bang Theory, Game of Thrones, The Simpsons, and
The Walking Dead are shorlisted for Best International Show.
