David Nutter, the director of the shocking final episode of this season's Game of Thrones, has said there was a lot of sadness on set during filming.
Warning: spoiler alert!
The episode, which aired on Sunday June 14 in the US, saw certain characters meet their demise.
Nutter told The Hollywood Reporter: "It wasn't unlike the Red Wedding [Game of Thrones massacre] where everyone gets attached to people when you work with them for such a long time. You really grow quite fond of each other. You're family. It was a lot of sadness on the set."
The season finale airs on Sky Atlantic tonight, Monday June 15.
