Uma Thurman and Christopher Lee are to star in The 11th, a new ensemble drama of eight interwoven stories that takes place in Copenhagen 24 hours before the September 11 attacks.

ScreenDaily.com, which broke the news of Thurman and Lee's casting, says that they will join Connie Nielsen, Michael Nyqvist, Lena Olin, Lars Mikkelsen and Paprika Steen in the Xavier Nemo-directed film.

Thurman, it says, will play "an obsessive cop", with Lee playing a former surgeon who has Alzheimer's.

The 11th will begin shooting this September, with a September 2016 release to mark the 15th anniversary of September 11 planned.
