U2 drummer Larry Mullen has written the foreword to RTÉ 2fm and 2XM dj Dan Hegarty's new book Buried Treasure, calling the first time author 'a musical air traffic controller'. Watch TEN's interview with Dan here.

Buried Treasure sees Dan and guest writers including Public Enemy front-man Chuck D, Gavin Friday, Larry Gogan, Aiden Gillen, Cillian Murphy and Irish rugby star Robbie Henshaw reappraise albums that they feel have been overlooked.

Mullen began listening to Dan's show on late night drives home from sessions for the album How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. Dan began making Mullen compilation CDs of music he thinks he might like.

Speaking to TEN, he said: "There's all sorts of stuff on them. It could be anything from new Irish stuff to the Muppet Show theme music so all sorts of stuff. He's really into his music as are the rest of the band. It's obvious that they're all music fans."

Buried Treasure is out now on Liberties Press.
