Distributor Metrodome has told RTÉ TEN that it plans to release the new Robert Sheehan-starring chiller The Messenger in Ireland in early July.

Directed by David Blair (Best Laid Plans), written by longtime Emmerdale writer Andrew Kirk and also starring Joely Richardson and Lily Cole, The Messenger tells the story of Jack (Sheehan), a disturbed young man who experiences visions of the dead.

The film's producer, Terry Stone, told ScreenDaily.com: "The Messenger boasts a superb cast, a fantastic director and a story that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up."
