British distributor Metrodome has acquired the Irish and UK rights to the Robert Sheehan-starring chiller The Messenger

Directed by David Blair (Best Laid Plans), written by longtime Emmerdale writer Andrew Kirk and also starring Joely Richardson and Lily Cole, The Messenger tells the story of Jack (Sheehan), a disturbed young man who experiences visions of the dead.

ScreenDaily.com, which broke the news of the Metrodome deal, says that a UK release is planned for the summer, with Metrodome telling RTÉ TEN that it is looking at an early July release in Ireland.
