David Harewood, Homeland's ambitious CIA Director of the Counterterrorism Center, is joining the cast of ITV's Dark Ages drama Beowulf.
The show, based on the Old English poem about Beowulf's battles with all sorts of monsters, is being made into a 13-part drama.
The cast includes Oscar-winner William Hurt and Joanne Whalley plus Da Vinci's Demon actor Kieran Bew as the eponymous hero with Harewood playing a warrior called Scorann.
