Homeland star Morena Baccarin has been cast in Marvel's Deadpool.
The actress has landed the female lead in the movie, playing the love interest of Ryan Reynolds' titular character, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Reynolds plays an assassin who undergoes a procedure to cure his cancer that leaves him twisted and scarred, but imbued with superpowers.
Baccarin's character grapples with falling for a man with a hideously scarred face.
Tim Miller is directing the action-adventure from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
Baccarin is also set to star in Paul Feig's upcoming movie Spy with Melissa McCarthy.
Deadpool is scheduled for release in February 2016.
