Principal photography will begin in Germany on Friday on Alone in Berlin, the World War II drama which stars Brendan Gleeson and Emma Thompson and is based on Hans Fallada's acclaimed novel of the same name.
ScreenDaily.com says the film is based on the true story of a couple who staged anonymous postcard protests against the Nazi regime.
Daniel Brühl will play a Gestapo inspector in the film, which will be directed, and has been co-written, by actor Vincent Perez.
