A decision on Jeremy Clarkson's future with the BBC is expected to be announced 'imminently' following an inquiry into a `fracas' two weeks ago which saw him suspended from his presenting job on Top Gear.
The Guardian reports that a senior executive at the BBC has said that allegations that Clarkson threw a punch at Irish-born producer Oisin Tymon during a row while filming Top Gear had to be “dealt with in a very serious way”.
Speaking to reporters yesterday (March 23), the controller of BBC Radio 1 Ben Cooper said: “I think if my son or daughter went to a place of work where they were shouted at, abused and someone threw a punch at them, I would want there to be an inquiry and for that to be dealt with in a very serious way and that’s what the BBC is currently doing.”
Both Tymon and Clarkson have given evidence to the internal BBC investigation.
