Russell Crowe was due to present an award at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) awards alone - however Ryan Gosling joined him, unexpectedly!
In the sketch, Crowe is interrupted when presenting the Best Supporting Actress category by Gosling who congratulates him for winning an award himself.
Russell then reveals that he is presenting an award (via satellite from the set of their new film The Nice Guys) and turns to the camera: "Ladies and gentlemen, you may not recognise him with his clothes on."
Gosling decides to join in and shows off his Australian accent, telling Crowe that he is an "honorary Australian", having lived in New Zealand for two years.
Crowe is quick to point out that Australia and New Zealand are two different countries but Gosling is undeterred saying that they can "cut that part out" before Crowe tells him they're live!
Crowe and Gosling will co-star in the crime thriller The Nice Guys, which is due for release next year.
