Novelist Cecelia Ahern has said that she has suffered from paralysing panic attacks that have left her living in fear of when the next one will strike.

Ahern talks about her panic attacks on the opening episode of the new season of The Meaning of Life With Gay Byrne this Sunday night (January 25) on RTÉ One.

She also discusses her childhood experience of growing up with a politician father who was loved and reviled in equal measure and how she coped with family breakdown when her parents separated when she was 11 years old.
