Star Trek: Deep Space Nine star Colm Meaney has joined the cast of US network Syfy's Childhood's End, a six-hour adaptation of the Arthur C Clarke bestseller.
Deadline.com says Childhood's End tells the story of a peaceful alien invasion of Earth by 'The Overlords', with Hell on Wheels and The Snapper actor Meaney set to play Wainwright, the owner of a news organisation.
The story has been adapted for the screen by Matthew Graham (Doctor Who) and the mini-series will premiere later this year.
